I had a nice birthday. I went to lunch with my girls from the office. I got a nice bouquet of flowers, some cash, some homemade fudge, a lovely piece of framed art, a beautiful Poinsettia, a sweet gift card to Outback, a magnificent pink hammer, many kind wishes and to top the day off I got to hear Matt sing and Jake play a fine tune on the piano for our church talent show. Now it's time to move on to more serious matters.
Last weekend, I saw the movie AUSTRALIA (with the lovely Hugh Jackman). I loved it, I loved him, I loved her (Nicole Kidman), I loved the story line, I loved the little boy, I loved everything about it! This evening, I got very close to having my first altercation as a 43-year-old woman when a young lady began to tell me how much she disliked this film. WOW! I was flabbergasted! I could barely rally to my feet to defend the flick, but I managed.
So here's my question ... Have you seen it? Did you like it? Was I just taken in by the lovely Hugh Jackman's pearly whites which I could stare at every day for the rest of my life and never tire of? And if you haven't seen it ... please go so that we can discuss this! I need to know (yet I would not be surprised) if I am simply judging my movies based solely on the loveliness of the leading men! Oh Hugh.

Will Boyd like it? or is it a just for girls???? Happy Birthday your still so young.. I saw Marilynn the other night and told her we need to get together and do lunch.... it was fun to see her and get to talk to her.
I personally think that guys would like it. It's got history, battles and cattle ... totally a new age John Wayne movie!
But what do I know?
I DEFINITELY think that Hunky Hugh had a lot to do with it. If he wasn't so ridiculously good looking, I would have been forced to pay attention to the actual movie and probably wouldn't have liked it as much. Good..pero not great.
Did you hear that? She speaks Spanish!
Heather and I went to the flick last weekend. I loved it!! Nicole Kidman was great, Hugh Jackman was beautiful, and the little boy was very cute. I would go again to the movie. Don would have enjoyed it because of the cattle drive and macho stuff. Academy Award material, don't you think?
Funny, I was just wondering the same thing about myself and Daniel Craig. My brother had the nerve to suggest Quantum of Solace was not an Oscar winner.
He's wrong though, I would NEVER be so shallow as to love a movie only for it's (dreamy) hero. I'm sure you wouldn't either.
I'm glad you liked the movie! I want to see it! Glad you had a happy birthday! You scored some pretty great gifts!!
I can't wait to see it! I'm a huge Hugh fan too! We were supposed to go for Thanksgiving but we ran out of time. I'll let you know what I think as soon as I do, but who cares if you're biased. You like what you like!
(I love Daniel Craig too:)
I loved it as well and Hugh Jackman is a freaking Hottie!!!!
I really didn't think I was going to be able to stand Nicolle Kidman but I thought she did an awesome job in the movie.
