Love the costumes girls. Oh my gosh...October and Halloween could very well be my favorite month! It's alway been the turning point to more beautiful weather and fun treat or treat times. Our tradition has been getting the kids and now grandkids, all decked out for the big night and then feeding the neighborhood and trick or treaters hot dogs and chili. But, that has come to an end as of last year and we've moved on and are joining our kids and grandkids in their activities. More fun times.
Don't worry Kacey, this year will be another lull for you in the Halloween department and then you'll be so on to getting the new little one decked out for the season next year. Get it? Your life is about to changed...enjoy!
We used to have a disgusting dinner & pumpkin carving party every year. It was super fun, we (I) made creepy invitations and everyone brought something "gross" to eat. We haven't had one for the last few years, our kids grew up dangit, I kind of miss it.
I'm not a huge fan of wearing a costume myself, but I've made some pretty sweet ones for my kids. Once, when Eli was about 3, I sewed him a satin Elvis costume, with a cape, and we sprayed his hair black. It was awesome.
This is going to be my new Sunday tradition. Halloween needs homemade chili, cornbread, and like you said caramel apples. lots and lots of caramel apples with candy toppings.
I'm a wife to one (obvi), mother to five (amazing kids), and grandma to five (my reward for putting up with the aforementioned amazing kids). A Shaker's life is always hopping. We do everything spontaneously because, let's face it, it will all change 14 times from the original plan ... which is just like life!! So we learn a lot of life lessons around here, and I think I should write them down somewhere in an effort to not repeat stupid. This is my blog.
